Welcome,
The following pages provide some examples of my work over the last few years. I beleive the underlying current that ties everything together is my love of nature and the landscape.
My "Rock Paintings" explore a tension between abstraction and realism, while the encaustic paintings lend themselves to developing this idea further.
The "Coffee Drawings" began as innocent drawings with no particular purpose, but have become a wonderful exploration of spontaneity and the "meticulous obsession with the mundane." These drawings are a nod to those who spent so much time making art in the public cafes - something rarely seen today.
The "Un-Still Lifes" are kinetic paintings of color and movement. These paintings have a surreal quality which have allowed me to explore shape and color in a nonconventional perspective.
Since the passing of my sister last year, "Figuratively Speaking" is a group of paintings that touch upon our relationship.
Thank you and I hope you enjoy the work.
