Each morning starts with a cup of coffee and a drawing. An ink drawing may take up to 30 or 40 hours or more to finish. Each has a lot of time, thought, and personal reflection invested - like the pages of a journal or diary. It was this idea that inspired the book.
These drawings do not use any preliminary drawing or sketches. They begin and finish in ink. Any mistakes cannot be erased and hopefully become a character of the drawing. This in turn becomes a metaphor for these drawings, where personal mistakes shape our lives. The goal is to make the best of them.
